RESULTS:
++++++++++May 19 vs. Mentor.
Varsity: L

The JV Bees finished a successful 2010 season with a 6-4 victory at Mentor. The Bees battled tough field conditions (long wet grass) and a feisty Cardinal squad all day long. The Bees found themselves in a 2-0 hole early but after a timeout stormed back to take a 3-2 lead. After Mentor scored the equalizer to start the third quarter, the Bees struck for 3 unanswered on their way to victory. Josh Nenadal, Kyle Allen and Jason LaPierre stood out  on offense, while Nick Fallon provided some physical play on the defensive end. Aaron Gerrow was again stood tall in the nets.

The JV Bees conclude the 2010 campaign with a record of 10-4. The Bees finished the season a blistering 9-1 in their last 10. The JV Bees outscored their opponents 75-33. The defense recorded 3 shutouts, three other games of only 1 goal allowed. Only one team (Revere) scored more than 4 on the Bees.
The Bees were ground ball machines all year, moved the ball and played physical, smart lacrosse. Every player improved significantly this year and the future of Bees lacrosse looks bright indeed.

Most importantly, the JV Bees were a great group to be around and treated each other with respect and acted as true teammates. As a coach, I could not have asked for more from a group of young men. I am very proud of each one of them.

++++++++++May 10 vs.  Bay Village. Varsity only.
** Bay 14, BBHHS 7++++++++++May 7 vs. Benedictine.
**  JV: BBHHS 6, Benedictine 2
JV Bees played well again in defeating the Benedictine Bengals 6-2. The Bees used their familiar formula of hustle, ball movement and physical play to take the game to the Bengals.
Despite the lack of 2 first line middies, the Bees controlled play from start to finish.
The team will take its 9-4 record into Mentor on May 19th to see if it can achieve a double digit win total for the year. The Bees are an impressive 8-1 in their last 9 games.

** Varsity: Benedictine 7,  BBHHS 0

++++++++++MAY 4 vs. Lake Catholic
++VARSITY: Lake Catholic, 11, BBHHS 4
++JUNIOR VARSITY: BBHHS 7, Lake Catholic 0
JV Bees defeated Lake Catholic 7-0 to sweep the season series by identical 7-0 scores. The Bees used superior ball control and movement to create opportunities and cashed in on many of those chances.
The defense and goalie should be proud in posting the third shut out of the year. The game had some unusual elements including a shot by Kyle Allen that deflected off a Lake Catholic defender’s foot about 8 feet into the net and a rumbling, twisting turning run from coast to coast by Aaron Gerrow that ended in a shot that hit the cross bar.

++++++++++APRIL 29 vs. Brunswick
++JUNIOR VARSITY: BBHHS 8, Brunswick 3
JV Bees rolled Thursday to an 8-3 win to complete a season sweep over Brunswick.
After a sluggish first quarter, the Bees established control in the second quarter and never looked back. Danny Wisniewski continued his strong play at attack with a goal and an assist on Jake Clifford’s goal. Jake returned the favor with an assist on Danny’s goal.
TJ Carlo broke into the scoring column with a goal. Kyle Allen, Jason LaPierre, Tommy Ferry, Ryan I and Josh Nenadal each tallied a goal for the Bees.
As usual the defense held the opposition in check with strong one-on-one play and help defense. The Bees 10-man ride continues to confound the opposition leading to numerous turnovers and scoring opportunities.

++++++++++ APRIL 26 vs. West Geauga ++++++++++
++JUNIOR VARSITY: BBHHS 5, West Geauga 1.
From Coach Fallon:
JV Bees got back on their winning ways with a 5-1 victory over the West G. Wolverines. The Bees dominated play from the beginning but led by only 2-0 going into the third quarter. The Bees then turned on the jets to cruise to a 5-1 final margin. Danny Wisniewski broke out in a big way with a goal and an assist. Alex Robinson and Sean Arthur also broke into the scoring column for the first time this year. Josh Nenadal paced the Bees with 2 goals. The defense got back to stifling the opposition and Aaron Gerrow was again stout in net. The Bees will try to keep it going on Thursday against Brunswick. Only 4 games left!

The score should been 4 for us, as Gino’s goal was taken away by a bogus crease violation that wasn’t. (This was a really poorly officiated game, on both sides.)
The score doesn’t really reflect that the guys played a  decent game and, more importantly, really had a good time.
Highlights includes Andrew Bell’s dominance with all 3 Bees’ goals, Gino’s field-long marches on goal and Josh Nenadal’s attempt at imitating LeBron with a half-court shot that was almost there.

Brunswick- The JV Bees continued their winning ways on Thursday with a 5-1 victory over Brunswick. The Bees got off to a quick start and never looked back.
Ball movement, especially in the first half, was excellent and led to many scoring opportunities. On the defensive side of the field, the Bees again smothered their opponent.
Kyle Allen, Josh Nenadal and Jason LaPierre continued their strong play and the second and third line middies showed continued improvement as well. On attack the Bees controlled play and showed patience in looking for scoring opportunities.

Varsity played a decent game in the pasture but came up short.

++JUNIOR VARSITY:
The JV Bees defeated Stow 7-4 in a darkness shortened contest at Stow. The Bees jumped out to a quick lead and were never seriously threatened in the contest.
Using ground ball dominance and its developing stick skills, the team controlled the game from start to finish.
Mike Stankey filled in admirably for Gerow at goal. Jake Clifford also made notable contributions with a goal and physical play on rides. The man-up unit continued to score when given the opportunities. All players made contributions to the win.

++++++++++APRIL 14 VS YOUNGSTOWN CARDINAL MOONEY++++++++++
JUNIOR VARSITY: BBHHS 3, Youngstown 1
JV Bees bounced back on Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals. Playing in their first away game, the Bees played a sluggish first half, trading man-up goals with the Cardinals. The Bees began taking control in the third quarter with aggressive ground balls and physical play. This paid dividends in the fourth quarter with two quick scores to make the final margin 3-1.

VARSITY: Youngstown 4, BBHHS 1.

++++++++++APRIL 12  vs. KENSTON++++++++++
++ VARSITY: Kenston 13, BBHHS, 1
The JV had its winning streak snapped at one on Monday by a very complete Kenston Bomber squad. The Bees jumped out to a 2-0 lead but stagnation on offense and spotty transition defense led to 5 straight goals for Kenston. The Bees put on a late charge to close the gap to 5-3 but fell nonetheless.
 The JV Bees will continue to work on moving without the ball on offense, clearing and better transition defense. The Bees did have some bright spots, especially on ground balls. We are also progressing well on the basics of throwing and catching. As usual, everyone gave 100% effort as well. Kenston had the best stick skills of any team we faced this year and their goalie turned away quite a few shots in the second half. The JV Bees will get right back at it on Wednesday in our first road game of the season.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Kenston 5, BBHHS 3

JV played another thriller on Saturday but lost 6-5 to a very good Revere team. Tied at half 1-1, Revere came out and put up 5 unanswered goals to go up 6-1. (Coach Fallon needs to work on his halftime speeches).
